Optimism can be a goal or empathy you want to live it up with. Keeping your head up dedicates your behavioral role.

Not what others think but what do you think of yourself?

If you feel sad, you start to emotionally think of another way out to express your happiness. It is a sight of feeling that you mentally want to be happy with what you do for a living.

Criticize is probably the worst thing but again you do not criticize yourself. I have friends & family that think about me what I love to do for a living and that is an opinion. You are mentally insecure for allowing others to think about what YOU exactly do for a living. The internet has shaped differently today than what we think of the past.

Allow yourself to gather affirmations for your own self-dignity, not others.

You will slowly grow over time when you interact with your old friends, family, and then as well when you meet ones. Educate yourself before you meet new ones.
